If I understand your question, correctly, it is a Machlokes on Daf 5a, between R. Yosef and Abaye as to whether the minimum Shi'ur Mavoy is four Tefachim (R. Yosef) in which case a Lechi of four Tefachim will be Pasul, or four Amos (Abaye), in which case it will be Kasher.
