What is "Merasayim"?

Radak: It is Malchus Bavel; it is an expression of Meri (rebellion). Also Yonason translates 'a rebellious nation.'

What is "Pekod"?

Rashi: It is the name of a country. The same applies to "Pekod v'Sho'a v'Ko'a" (Yechezkel 23:23). Yonason translates that these are names of countries.

Radak: It is Bavel, for it is time Lifkod (exact payment for) its sin. Malbim - this is like "Hineni Foked El Melech Bavel" (18).

What is the meaning of "Charov v'Hacharem"?

Radak: These are commands. Charov is to destroy with the Cherev (sword). Also v'Hacharem is like "v'Es Kol ha'Neshamah Hecherim" (Yehoshua 10:40).

Why does it say "Achareihem"?

Radak: Those who flee, chase after them with the sword. This is like "v'Cherev Arik Achareihem" (Yechezkel 5:2), "v'Harikosi Achareichem Cherev" (Vayikra 26:33).

Targum Yonasan: Their remnant. Radak - he explains like "v'Acharisam ba'Cherev Eherog" (Amos 9:1), i.e. their sons 1 , who are the remnant of a man and his end.
