Ramban: What he meant was that during the initial fourteen years, as a result of his hard work, he had amassed a vast amount of sheep on Lavan's behalf - albeit from the weaker animals, and that Lavan's sons' accusations were based purely on jealousy, but were otherwise unfounded.


Rambam: A laborer is obkigated to work with all his energy - like Yakov said he did. That is why he receuved rewardd also in this world - as the Pasuk writes (in 30:43) "Vayifrotz h'Ish Me'od Me'od".
