Malbim: He did another order of Tefilah, confession and Techinah. Gavriel appeared in the first stage.

What is the meaning of "Mu'af Bi'af"?
Rashi: He flew to me.
Ibn Ezra: Mu'af is like Ha'ifu - he was forced to fly. Bi'af ? he flew amidst great speed. Its grammatical form is like "v'Adam Bikar Bal Yalin."
Malbim: He flew from Shamayim to come to me. Chazal learned from here that he came in two jumps (Berachos 4b). First he flew above, to receive influence from Micha'el above him (he needs only one jump), and then below to give influence of Nevu'ah below.
