What should they contemplate?
Radak: The punishments that are coming, and call the lamenters now.
Malbim: Contemplate your deeds; think how to heal your illness.
Why is there a Patach under the Lamed in "la'Mekonenos"?
Radak: These are the known lamenters.
What wise women should they call?
Radak: They are proficient in eulogies and lamenting.
Malbim: Previously, destruction came (people died), but the remnant remained in their land. They lamented only those killed. Now, the primary lament is over the survivors, who will endure great evils and afflictions. The wise 1 should counsel the living how to evade the evil destined for them!
Why should they call Chachamos (females)? Perhaps Malbim agrees with Radak that they are Chachamos in eulogies and lamenting, just he adds that they should also call Chachamim for counsel. (PF)
Why does it say "u'Svo'enah", and at the end of the verse "v'Savonah"?"
Radak: The first time the Aleph has a Segol, and the latter time it is silent. Mesores brings both of these for verbs in which the Ayin (middle letter of the root; here, the root is Beis Vov Aleph) is silent.
