Why does it say "mi'Kadmei Eretz"?
Malbim: After [Olam ha'Kisei] were born clear lights - Olam ha'Mal'achim. They are prepared for missions of conduct and to move the Ma'arachah - "Giborei Cho'ach Osei Devaro" (Tehilim 103:20). Then it was called Olam. It is the first light that was created before Shamayim va'Aretz - the light of purely intellectual beings. Also they were created via the laws of Chachmah that spread in every world, according to the conduct of that world. This was before the world of Asiyah (action); the land is like one of them. Also there I ruled and conducted according to the ways of Chachmah.
