Why did He ask Amos what he sees?
Malbim: He asked, what is the Chidush to you in this vision? Amos answered, "Keluv Kayitz" ? how do you put Kayitz in a coop?
What is the connection of "Keluv Kayitz" to the end of Yisrael?
Radak: The Ketz (deadline) came to exile them from their land. Summer fruits, when the time of their final ripening came, and one gathers them from the tree, and eats some and dries some. So Yisrael's final time came to displace them from their place. Perhaps Ketz and Kayitz are the same matter and from the same root.
Malbim: Both of them show what will happen to Yisrael in the future. Kayitz shows that the Ketz (deadline) came - just like Kayitz is the end of gathering fruits, and one cannot pass the time, so too the final time came. I will not add, change or postpone to another time.
What do we learn from "Avor Lo"?
Radak: This is like I explained "Avor Lo" ? [I will not continue to pass over] his sins [without punishing. Refer to 7:8:4:2.]
