What is "Ever ha'Yarden Yamah"?
Rashi: It is the side to which Bnei Yisrael passed, i.e. the west. Until now they were on the east side.
Why do we pronounce "Avram"?
Radak: It is from the perspective of the Kosev. 1
'Kosev' cannot be the author (Yehoshua), for also he passed through! It must mean the scribe who will copy this later. Why did he not say 'ha'Korei' (one who will read it later? - PF)
Why does it say that their hearts melted?
Malbim #1: This teaches that "in order that all the nations will know Hashem's power" was fulfilled.
Malbim #2: If not for this, Yehoshua would have feared to circumcise everyone then (lest the nations attack them afterwards, when they are weak).
