Malbim: This shows that there is no Kedushah to the wood, even after he cut the block that he will make into an idol. There is no curse for using it to roast meat 1 - he will be satiated! Do not say that the meat roasts miraculously - the fire will warm him!

What is "He'ach"?

Radak: It is Simchah. The same applies to "He'ach He'ach Ra'asah Eineinu" (Tehilim 35:21). This fool, who is enticed via the idol and delights in it for his folly for two reasons. His body benefits temporarily, and he thinks that he will be rewarded nicely for his Avodah.
