Radak: It explains how he eats meat from wood - he uses it to roast meat.
Malbim: This shows that there is no Kedushah to the wood, even after he cut the block that he will make into an idol. There is no curse for using it to roast meat 1 - he will be satiated! Do not say that the meat roasts miraculously - the fire will warm him!
If it were Kadosh, it would be proper to be cursed for using it for his benefit. (PF)
What is "He'ach"?
