Why does it say "Koros"?

Malbim: 'Motze'os' are common occurrences with a cause. 'Koros' are without a reason. Really, it was proper that Hashgachah bring this upon them due to the sale of Yosef. Yaakov did not know about the sale; to him, they were Koros.
