What is the meaning of "Ein Al Afar Mashlo"?

1.

'Rashi': There is a Chataf Kamatz 1 under the Mem. It is an expression of Memshalah - no creation rules over it. It is a noun - a ruler.

2.

Ibn Ezra: It rules in the sea, but not on the land.

3.

Refer to 41:25:2:4.

1

In our texts, it is a regular Kamatz. (PF)

What is the meaning of "he'Asu li'Vli Chas"?

1.

'Rashi': This is like he'Asuy. I do not know anything like this. It is made without fear of any creation, like it says about a horse "Yischak l'Fachad v'Lo Yechas" (39:22).

2.

Ibn Ezra #1: Were any Giborim made in the world like it, that it does not fear?

3.

Ibn Ezra #2: It is written lacking; it should say Asahu. Hashem made it that it will not fear.

4.

Malbim: If all creations were made in a way that there is no fear, rather, all were weak creations, "Ein Al Afar Mashlo" - over whom would the Creator rule 1 ?! Rather, Hashem made great, awesome creations, and He rules even over them.

1

I.e. it is not dignified to rule over weak creations. Hashem could have made that all creations are equally strong, or do not fear others due to great defenses, e.g. porcupines! (PF)
