How is it possible to cleave to Hashem, who is compared to a consuming fire?
Hadar Zekenim: One can cleave to Hashem's Mitzvos.
Mesilas Yesharim (Perek 19): If one ceases to pay attention to anything else it is considered as if he is cleaving to Hashem.
Targum Onkelos and Targum Yonasan: The Torah is referring to those who cleave to Yir'as Hashem.
Kesuvos, 111b: Whoever marries off his daughter to a Talmid-Chacham, who does business with a Talmid-Chacham 1 or who benefits a Talmid-Chacham from his property is considered as if he is cleaving to the Shechinah.
