Why does the Torah insert the word "Vayikchu es Kol ha'Shalal ... "?
Rashi: To teach us that they were all Tzadikim, who were not suspected of taking any of the spoil for themselves without permission 1 (No-one took for himself a single cow or donkey - Rashi in Shir Hashirim,4:2).
Rashi: And it is about them that the Pasuk writes in Shir ha'Shirim, 6:6 "Shinayich ke'Eider ha'Recheilim" ('Your teeth ? the soldiers ? are like a flock of lambs!').
?Sh?vi? in Pasuk 12, refers to captives. What is the difference between "Shalal", "Baz" (in Pasuk 32) and "Malko'ach"?
Rashi: "Shalal" is Metalt'lin (chattel - movable spoil) of clothes and ornaments; "Baz" is Metalt'lin spoil other than that of clothes or ornaments, and "Malko'ach" is spoil of animals and captives. 1
Rashbam (in Pasuk 12): "Malko'ach" refers to animals and "Shalal" to Metalt'lim.
