Why is Hashem's protection compared to birds?
Radak citing his father: His angel is compared to a lion (4) for strength, and to a bird for speed.
Malbim: When one wants to steal its nest, it flies speedily to save its nest.
Why does it say "k'Tziparim Afos" (feminine)?
Radak: We find that Tzipor can be feminine - "Kol Tzipor Tehorah" (Devarim 14:11).
Why does it say "Ganon v'Hitzil"?
Malbim: He will shield, so the enemy will not approach the nest.
What is the grammatical form of "v'Hitzil"?
Radak: It is Makor (like an infinitive), therefore there is a Chirik under the Hei. The same applies to Himlit and "Lema'an Hirgi'a Es ha'Aretz" (Yirmeyah 50:34).
What is "Paso'ach"?
Rashi #1: It is skipping. Malbim - He pounced on the enemy
Rashi #2: It is having mercy 1 .
Also in Shemos (12:23), Rashi explains "u'Fasach [Hashem Al ha'Pesach]" to mean having mercy, or skipping.
What is the meaning of "Himlit"?
Rashi: He saved Yisrael from the affliction.
Malbim: He extracted from Machaneh Ashur the spoils that they already had.
