What is "Oh Sayish"?

1.

Rashi citing Midrash: It is Yavan - "veha'Tzafir ha'Sa'ir Melech Yavan" (Daniel 8:21).

2.

Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): It is the form overpowering physicality. The form is depicted as male, opposite the flock of female sheep - physical powers that receive. The male must go in front. This is the Midah of brazenness - 'be Az like a Nemer' (Avos 5:20). This is inner strength and a brazen face - [imposing] the form on other powers.

3.

Malbim (Derech ha'Pashut): Refer to 30:29:1:3.

3)

What is "Melech Alkum"?

1.

Rashi: It is the nation of Aram - "Ani v'Afsi Od" (Yeshayah 47:8), nothing stands opposite it. "Alkum" no one stands with him.

2.

Malbim (Derech ha'Muskal): With the form goes the Melech - the Sechel and its powers, which rules over the Nefesh. No bodily power will rise against it to oppose and rebel against it. 'Kal k'Nesher' (Avos 5:20) hints to this - to fly on the elevated wings of Sechel. Then it goes well in the way of investigation and attaining truths.

3.

Malbim (Derech ha'Pashut): Alkum was a slave of the evil king, Semamis' husband. He removed the king from his throne and killed him, and gave his flesh for birds to eat. Semamis inherited her mistress (the evil king's wife).
