What is the meaning of "Yeshev Badad"?

Rav Sadya Gaon: It is proper that he sit alone.

Rashi: If mourning or affliction occurred to someone, he should sit alone and look forward to good.

Ri Kara: There is nothing better than for one to sit alone and wait for the decree that was made on him. Also refer to 3:28:2:2.

4.

Rid: Now, Yisrael dwells alone.

5.

Orchos Tzadikim (Sha'ar ha'Chanifus DH v'Chen): If in all the places that one knows about, they conduct in a bad way, or due to troops or illness he cannot go to a place with good conduct, he should dwell alone.

What is "Yidom"?

Rashi: It is to wait, like Yonason said "Im Ko Yomeru Eleinu Domu" (Shmuel I, 14:9).

Ri Kara citing R. Menachem: It refers to thought - "v'Hayah Ka'asher Damisi La'asos Lahem E'eseh Lachem" (Bamidbar 33:56). He should sit alone and think about Divrei Torah, and Hashem will put a good reward on him.

Rid (26): It is an expression of hope.

Why does it say "Ki Natal Alav"?

1.

Rashi: The One who makes decrees imposed this on him. Ri Kara - Natal is an expression of casting, like "va'Yatel 1 Sha'ul Es ha'Chanis" (Shmuel I, 18:11) and "va'Yatilu Es ha'Kelim" (Yonah 1:5). Also refer to 3:28:2:2.

Ibn Ezra: He accepted this yoke (mentioned in verse 27) on himself.
