Bava Kama 92b: People say that a dog will eat dung (Rashi - rocks) when hungry.

Rashi #1: One who is hungry, everything is sweet to him.

Rashi #2: One who desires Divrei Torah, even matters that come to him with bitterness and toil, are sweet to him.

Ma'alos ha'Torah (DH R. Shimon) #1: This refers to a Chacham who learned, and afterwards separated.

5.

Ma'alos ha'Torah (DH R. Shimon) #2: Just like a Nafah (sifter) gives out flour by itself, bran by itself
