What is the meaning of "le'Fe'as Negev-Teimanah"?

1.

Rashi (in Shevu'os, 2b): In means 'at the end of the south side'. 1

1

Rashi here at the end of the Pasuk translates "la'Pe'ah ha'Echas" as 'for one side'. It seems that the exact translation of the word depends on the context.

2)

Seeing as the four directions are generally presented 'east, west, north and south' (See R. Bachye) why does the Torah change the order to south, north, west and east?

1.

R. Bachye #1: Because on the one hand it needs to teach us the length of the Chatzer, and on the other, it mentions the west first, because, like the south and the north, the curtains covered the entire western side, as opposed to the east, which contained the entrance to the the Chatzer. 1

1

See R. Bachye, who differentiates between the order of directopnss in this world and the order before the Merkavah ha'Elyonah. See R. Bahye in 26:25.

3)

What is the definition of "Kela'im"?

1.

Rashi (citing Targum Onkelos) and Rashbam #1 (citing Menachem): They were curtains (with holes, like sails of a ship - Rashi).

2.

Rashbam #2 (Ibid.): They were curtains made of twined linen with pictures engraved on them. 1

As in Melachim 1, 6:32 & 6:18 (Rashbam).
