What is "Cherev Netushah"?
Rashi #1: It is spread over the entire land, like "v'Hine Netushim Al Pnei Chol ha'Aretz" (Shmuel I, 30:16).
Rashi #2: Netushah is like Letushah (sharpened). Letters pronounced from the same part of the mouth, e.g. Nun and Lamed 1 , are interchangeable. "La'asos Lo Nishkah" (Nechemyah 13:7) is like Lishkah.

Why does it add "u'Mipnei Keshes Deruchah"?
Malbim: The Gevurah of Bnei Kedar did not save them - they were trained archers - because also the enemy came with drawn bows.
Why does it say "u'Mipnei Koved Milchamah"?
Malbim: Even though the enemy's sword spread over the entire land, and they came with drawn bows, Bnei Kedar did not flee immediately. They fought with all their strength, just the enemy overpowered.
