Malbim: First I will wait to see if he questions your absence. If not, on the third day I will speak to him.

What is the meaning of "v'Az Lo Eshlach"?

Radak: This is said in astonishment. Will I not send for you?!

Malbim: I will be able to send immediately via a Shali'ach, for there is no danger. 1

Malbim did not address why it says "Lo". Perhaps he explains like Radak, that it shows astonishment. (PF)
