What do we learn from "[ba'Chutzos] Yis'holelu [ha'Rechev]"?

1.

Rashi: They will conduct themselves with madness.

2.

Radak: They cannot go outside the city to fight the army, for [the army outside] is greater than them. [Rather,] they go in the streets of the city like lunatics. Ha'Rechev are those who ride in the chariot - cavalry.

3.

Malbim: Chutzos is in back of the houses. The chariots will go wildly.

2)

What is the meaning of "Yishtakshekun"?

1.

Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: It is the sound of banging their weapons. This is like "v'Hishiku ha'Yekavim" (Yo'el 2:24), "k'Mashak Gevim" (Yeshayah 33:4).

2.

Radak: They will go in confusion. They will strike the Shok (thigh) when going frenzied.

3.

Malbim: They will gather, like many gather together in the Shuk (market).

3)

Why do they resemble "Lapidim"?

1.

Radak: They are shamed, for their end came, and they have no strength to fight against their enemies. Their faces will turn red like flames. And so it says about Bavel at the time of their fall "Pnei Lehavi Peneihem" (Yeshayah 13:8). One who is shamed, his face turns red.

4)

What is the significance of "ka'Berakim Yerotzetzu"?

1.

Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: They will shatter those who hear like lightning bolts, which distract people.

2.

Radak: Amidst panic, they will run around the streets of the city, from one end to the other, for they will not know what to do.

3.

Malbim: They will run very quickly, like lightning. This tells how he gathered his Giborim for war.
