Where is "Kitzvei Harim"?

1.

Rashi: At the end of measure of the mountains fixed on the Tehom (depth).

2.

Radak: The end of the mountains in the sea, i.e. their bottom ? the sea floor. Katzav is like Ketz (the end). Targum Yonasan is like this.

3.

Malbim (7-8): He was in the depth of the Tehom, below the mountains. Chazal said that he was in the Tehom under Har Tziyon.

2)

Why did he say "ha'Aretz Bericheha Va'adi"?

1.

Rashi: It is opposite, above me, and closed ? I will never leave. Ba'adi is [opposite] like "v'Sagart ha'Deles Ba'adech" (Melachim II, 4:4). So is every Ba'ad in Tanach, e.g. "Ohr Ba'ad Ohr" (Iyov 2:4).

2.

Radak: Initially I thought that the [dry] land was bolts against me. I.e. it flees from me ? I will never go out to it; the sea will be my grave.

3.

Radak citing Targum Yonasan: The land is Negdas (locked) strongly against me.

4.

Malbim: The land, which covers the Tehom under the land, bolted against me.

3)

What will be "l'Olam"?

1.

Rashi: This refers to what he said above ? "Nigrashti; ? ha'Aretz Bericheha Va'adi" (5, 7) ? they will always be closed to me.

2.

Malbim: The land will bolt against me. It was impossible to float on top of the water, for the land over the Tehom closed him in.

4)

What is the significance of "va'Ta'al mi'Shachas Chayai"?

1.

Rashi: I already saw Gehinom here, and from there You raised me. Now I am opposite under the Heichal in Yerushalayim - "Ach Osif Lehabit El Heichal Kodshecha" (5). My Tefilah will come to You, to Your Heichal.

2.

Radak: After I lived in the stomach of the fish, I knew that You raised my life from Shachas - the grave, and I will go to the land again.

3.

Malbim: Via the second fish swallowing him, he remained alive. All of this explains "Karasi mi'Tzarah Li El Hashem va'Ya'aneni" (3).

5)

Why did he say "Hashem Elokai"?

1.

Radak: You judged me.
