'Rashi': His heart was raised in this matter, that he went only in the ways of Hashem. This is like "Asher Nasan Liban Osanah b'Chachmah" (Shemos 35:26).

Gra: One who is haughty in the ways of Hashem, he constantly strives to add [merits].

Malbim: Do not say that he was haughty about his wealth. His haughtiness was in Darchei Hashem. The more he succeeded, the more he increased Yir'as Hashem and destroyed the Bamos and Asherim.
