Rashi: They are kinds of instruments. Radak citing Rav Sadya Gaon - "Minim" is kinds, as if it has a Yud after the Mem.

Tosfos (Erchin 10b): "Ugav" is Hardavlim; the Gemara says that it was not in the Mikdash 1 .

Korban ha'Edah (Sukah 5:6): "Ugav" is a bell with a clapper.

Melamed Leho'il (1 OC 16): "Ugav" is an organ powered by water; in those days, it was played in front of officers.

What is the significance of praise with Minim and Ugav [and cymbals - verse 5]?

Malbim: This is when He conducts with nature; the praise is bi'Rki'a Uzo and k'Rov Gudlo. This Simchah is not due to the Shechinah dwelling among them, but it is with Tziltzelei Seru'ah. Teru'ah shows fear due to breakage; they fear Hashem's punishment.
