What will be the consequence of "Reishis Chachmah Yir'as Hashem"?

1.

Avos d'R. Nasan (22): One whose fear [of Hashem] precedes his Chachmah, his Chachmah will last. One whose Chachmah precedes his fear, his Chachmah will not last.

2.

Radak: Hashem commanded that fear of Him be the start of Chachmah - "Es Hashem Elokecha Tira Oso Sa'avod u'Vo Sidbak..." (Devarim 10:20). Fear of Him is guarding Torah and Mitzvos. Chachmah is investigation to know all Ma'ase Bereishis. This is Avodas Hashem! Through it, one recognizes his Creator. Therefore, after this it says "Oso Sa'avod." When one contemplates this Chachmah, he removes from his heart all matters of the lower world and clings to Hashem - "u'Vo Sidbak." Then, he knows His name - "uvi'Shmo Tishave'a" (ibid). One who does not know His name should not swear in His name. One who prepared his heart to engage in Chachmah, first he should engage in Yir'as Hashem, and make it a root; based on it, he will conduct with the Chachmah that he learns 1 .

3.

Malbim: The Chachmah is received from the Master of the Chachmah. Its laws are not understood via Se'irei. Desire and the Yetzer ha'Ra entice a person to veer from statutes of Chachmah. One must bind the Nefesh in binds of fear, to fear Hashem and not veer from the laws of Chachmah and Mitzvos that He commanded.

1

Radak: If he will first learn investigation, perhaps his spirit will be confounded, and he will be brazen to contradict the great signs in Kisvei ha'Kodesh. He must put to his heart to believe everything written in the Torah - Chidush of the world, and wonders that override nature. After this foundation, he will learn philosophy, and it will not befuddle his intellect.

What do we learn from "[Sechel Tov] l'Chol Oseihem"?

1.

Brachos 17a: It is for those who do [His Mitzvos] Lishmah, and not for those who do them Lo Lishmah.

2.

Radak #1: This is good investigation, for one who engages both in Yir'as Hashem and Chachmah. Most people do not understand Chukim. A Chacham who contemplates them will find their reason clear.

3.

Radak #2: It is good success - "va'Yhi David b'Chol Derachav Maskil" (Shmuel I, 18:14). One who engages in both (Yir'as Hashem and Chachmah) will succeed in this world and in the world to come.

4.

Malbim (here and 112:1): One who guards the commands, Hashem will enable him to understand their reasons and secrets. In Tanach, "Sechel Tov" is Ru'ach ha'Kodesh.

3)

What is the meaning of "Tehilaso Omedes la'Ad"?

1.

Radak: One who does straight deeds, and guards Torah and Mitzvos, his praise in the mouths of people will be for several generations, and also his Nefesh will stand forever in the world to come.

2.

Malbim: He will find eternal happiness in [the Mitzvos], and praise is proper for the straight.
