Who was "Rosh ha'Techilah"?
Ibn Ezra: It was Asaf.
Malbim #1: It was Matanyah. Even though Ezra mentioned Bakbakar before Matanyah, Nechemyah revealed that Matanyah was greatest.
Malbim #2: It was Yehodeh (a man's name). Perhaps also la'Tefilah is a name, just like "Gidlati v'Romamti Ezer Yashbekashah" (Divrei ha'Yamim I, 25:4) are all names.
What is "Rosh ha'Techilah Yehodeh la'Tefilah"?
Rashi: He was the head, and was appointed to begin to thank in Tefilah and songs of the Leviyim. Yehodeh is like Yodeh (thank); the Hei entered the word without need, just like from Yosef comes Yehosef.
Refer to 11:17:1:3.
What do we learn from "u'Vakvukyah Mishneh me'Echav"?
Ibn Ezra: He was second to Asaf.
Malbim: He was second to Matanyah.
