Rashi: Melech Romi returned to his land from Melech ha'Negev.

Malbim: Antiyochus returned. In Yerushalayim they heard that he died. Antiyochus had deposed the Kohen Gadol and appointed a second in place of him. The first wanted to expel the latter and return to his status; for this, Antiyochus considered them to be rebelling.

What do we learn from "u'Levavo Al Bris Kodesh"?

1.

Rashi: He wanted to annul his Bris with Yisrael. Malbim – and do evil to them.

2.

Ibn Ezra: He wanted to annul the Bris between Malchus Aram and Yehudah ben Chashmona'im.

Why does it say "v'Asah"?

1.

Rashi: He succeeded to return to his land.

2.

Malbim: He killed many Yisrael, and then returned to his land.
