What is the meaning of "Aluf"?
Rashi citing Dunash and Yehudah ben Korish: This is like "Shegar Alafecha" (Devarim 28:4; babies of your cattle 1 , which the cows expelled from the womb). Even though there is no prefix Vov before Aluf, we find like this - "Shemesh Yare'ach" (Chabakuk 3:11), "k'Sus Agur Ken Atzaftzef" (Yeshayah 38:14).
Rashi citing Menasheh: It is big. Targum Yonasan (choice 2 ) supports this.
Radak: Also "Alufeinu Mesubalim" (Tehilim 144:4) refers to cattle.
Radak: This is like "Aluf Teiman" (Bereishis 36:15)
What is the meaning of "Yuval"?
Rashi: It is brought.
What is the parable?
Radak: Just like a lamb or bull being brought to slaughter does not know this, so I, my relatives and friends were bringing me to eat with them. I did not know that they intended to kill me.
Malbim: A lamb is trained to follow its master. When it is brought for Shechitah, it goes by itself, unaware, for it regularly follows its master; it does not know to beware. I strove to pray for them 1 , and they wanted to kill me!
I.e. before Hashem told him not to (7:16, 11:14). (PF)
What is the meaning of "Nashchisah Etz b'Lachmo"?
Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: We will put lethal poison in his food.
Radak: It says "Nashchisah" (we will destroy), and not Nasimah (we will put), for this putting was destruction. Etz is wood of death, i.e. lethal poison. This is like "va'Yorehu Hashem Etz" (Shemos 15:25) - it was a bitter tree. It was a double miracle [that it sweetened the bitter water - Tanchuma Beshalach 24]. Lachmo is his food; Lechem includes all food.
What is "me'Eretz Chayim"?
Radak: It is from this world.
Radak citing Targum Yonasan: It is from Eretz Yisrael.
How will his name not be remembered any more?
Radak: He will not remain alive. This is the same as being cur off from Eretz Chayim; it is repeated in different words.
Malbim: If a Navi is killed via the sword, his name is remembered in all generations, that he was killed for Kidush Hashem. He would be killed in a way that no one else would know.
