Rashi: Because Egypt is in the south-west (of Eretz Yisrael, as the Torah explans elsewhere.

"ha'Boker Hayah ? ". What is the significance of the fact that the locusts arrived in the morning?

R. Bachye: Because the punishment of Resha'im always takes place in the morning 1 - as does the reward of Tzadiim. 2

R. Bachye: Like we find by Korach "Boker Veyoda Hashem es asher Lo", and as the Pasuk writes in Tehilim "la'Bekarim Atzmis Kol Rish'ei Eretz".

R. Bachye: As Hashem said to Moshe "Veh'yei Nachon la'Boker" (34:2), and as the Pasuk writes in Eichah 3:23 "Chadashim la'Bekarim ... ".
