What is the meaning of "v'Yarshu ha'Negev"?

1.

Rashi: Yisrael who were living in the south of Eretz Yisrael will inherit Har Esav, which is on the southern border 1 . People of the Shefelah (coastal plain) will inherit Eretz Pelishtim, Har Efrayim and Har Shomron.

1

Malbim: Eretz Yisrael will expand to the south, like I explained in Yechezkel Perek 47. Also Eretz Mo'av and Amon will be added. On the east the border will expand past Ever ha'Yarden.

2)

What is "Sedei Efrayim"?

1.

Malbim: Everything outside the settlement is called Sadeh.

3)

Efrayim, Shomron and Gil'ad are within Eretz Yisrael. What is the Chidush that [Yisrael] will inherit them?

1.

Klei ha'Roim (of Bnei Yisaschar): Because Efrayim and Shomron (its capitol) served idolatry, one might have thought that they will not be restored [to be like Eretz Yisrael]. The verse teaches that this is not so; previous sins will not be recalled. The verse teaches that Binyamin, the most esteemed part of Eretz Yisrael (Batei ha'Mikdash were built there), will inherit Gil'ad (which had a lower Kedushah); it will become Kadosh like Eretz Yisrael proper.

4)

If Binyamin will inherit Gil'ad, where will Menasheh, who initially received Gil'ad, live?

1.

Rashi: Bnei Menasheh will spread past their border of Eretz Yisrael on the east.
