What is the meaning of "Shudad Sadeh Avlah"?

1.

Radak: It was destroyed and made desolate, for it has no fruits. The same applies to "Aval Tirosh" (Yeshayah 24:7).

2.

Malbim: "Shudad Sadeh" corresponds to "Hachras Minchah" (9). Sadeh is a grain field, where they grow wheat for Menachos. "Avlah Adamah" corresponds to "[Hachras...] Nesech" (9). The vine used to grow on it, for Nesachim. It is as if the field was plundered, the vine dried and the oil was cut off (they are needed for Nesachim).

2)

Why does it say "Hovish Tirosh"?

1.

Radak #1: This is like Yavesh; it is Po'el Omed (the action applies only to the subject). Targum Yonasan is like this.

2.

Radak #2: This is based on Boshes (shame). It is as if [the vine] has shame when it ceases [to make fruits].

3.

Malbim: This corresponds to "[Hachras...] Nesech" (9).

3)

What is "Umlal"?

1.

Radak: It is cut off.

4)

Why does the verse mention grain, wine and oil?

1.

Radak: They are the majority of man's life [essentials].
