Malbim: David should not think that everyone sided with Adoniyahu. Rather, whoever you choose will rule over them.

Perhaps Nasan wanted that her words not be identical with his words, lest David understand that this was coordinated. Some disqualify testimony if the witnesses say exactly the same words (refer to Devarim 17:4:2:1*). (PF)
