R. Yasa citing R. Yochanan: If there are two fields that belonged to a convert (who died without inheritors) with a strip of land between them, if a person picked a stalk in one of the fields intending to also acquire the other field but without intent for the strip in between them, the first field is acquired but not the second.

Question (R. Zeira to R. Yasa): If, when acquiring the strip, he also intended to acquire the adjacent fields, does he acquire them? (Note: The Gemara leaves this question unanswered.)

Rav Chisda: If he picked a crop on the northern side of a convert's field with intent to also acquire its southern side but not the area in between, he acquires the northern but not the southern side.
