OBJECTIONS TO USE OF A COURTYARD (Yerushalmi Halachah 5 Daf 2b)
R. Yochanan: When they said that each person receives 4 amos in front of his doorway, they did not mean that he completely acquires it, but rather, that he has permission to use it temporarily to unload his animal.
Question (R. Yonasan ): Does he only have temporary use in order to unload his animal? (The Beraisa's wording implies that he completely acquires that area in front of his doorway.)
Beraisa (in Maseches Bava Metzia): (If there is a pit in the courtyard that he uses to water his garden, when they come to divide the courtyard the pit owner) also receives 4 amos around his pit.
D'Bai Rabbi Yanai: A chicken coop owner also receives 4 amos around his coop.
