(a)When the other Kohanim see the Kohen with the pan-full of ashes descending the Mizbe'ach - they run to the Kiyor (See Tosfos Yom Tov) and hurriedly wash their hands and feet, following which they take the Magripos (the shovels) and the Tzinoros (the large forks [See Tosfos Yom Tov]) that are there - up to the top of the Mizbe'ach (See Tosfos Yom Tov).

(a)They then begin to carry the logs (See Tosfos Yom Tov) on to the Mizbe'ach. Based on the Pasuk in Tzav "u'Bi'er alehah ha'Kohen Eitzim ba'Boker ba'Boker", how many logs do they bring?

(c)What does the Tana extrapolate from the fact that the Mishnah does not specify which kind of wood must be used for the Ma'arachah?

(b)Why did they not take into account Yishuv Eretz Yisrael (like they did olive-wood and vines) in the case of ...

2. ... Atzei-Shemen (according to the second explanation)?

(c)What is the other kind of wood that they use?

4)

(a)Two of the three kinds of wood that they actually use is Murbiyos - (branches) of a fig-tree and of Atzei Shemen, which some interpret as balsam-wood. Others define it as 'Pinu' (Tzinubur in Arabic), which is a kind of fruit-tree.

(b)They did not take into account Yishuv Eretz Yisrael (like they did olive-wood and vines) in the case of ...

1. ... a fig-tree - because the Mishnah is referring to fig-trees that produce poor-quality fruit.

2. ... Atzei-Shemen (according to the second explanation) - since its fruit is not as popular as olives and grapes.

(c)The other kind of wood that they use is - that of a wall-nut-tree (See Tiferes Yisrael).
