What is "Yagudu"?

1.

Rashi: They (Radak - kings of the land) gather troops against the Nefesh of a Tzadik, to kill him.

2.

Radak: This is like "Godu Ilana" (Daniel 4:11). They give a verdict to kill him, and [really] he is Tzadik (innocent) in his Mishpat. The end of the verse repeats this in different words.

3.

Malbim: He makes laws that via them, they gather troops against the Nefesh of a Tzadik, to kill him.

What is the meaning of "Yarshi'u"?

1.

Rashi: They convict him, to execute him.

2.

Malbim: According to Tzedek, the murderer who spilled innocent blood should be condemned; according to the Sheker statutes that he established, they condemn the innocent and justify the murderer, for he killed 'properly'. This is a metaphor. Hashem sits on Kisei Mishpat; He is the supreme lawmaker 1 .

Malbim: If we will say that the Rasha crushing Am Hashem, and killing widows and Gerim is good in His eyes and He does not punish for this, it seems that He gives these corrupt statutes, that one may kill the innocent and there is no punishment for the murderer. This cannot be, that Hashem's Kisei is connected to a false Kisei that makes corrupt laws like this! Surely He will pay the Rasha for his evil!
