Why is it written v'Yitnah, and we pronounce it v'Yitnuhu?

1.

Radak: The Kesiv means that Chilkiyah gave it, i.e. the Migbah (collection; it is feminine). The pronunciation means that Shomerei ha'Saf gave it, i.e. the Kesef (masculine).

2)

What Melachah needed to be done?

1.

Radak: The Bayis needed to be strengthened. It weakened from the days of Yo'ash, who strengthened it, until now, 224 years later. Seder Olam says that it was 218 years.

3)

Why does it say "ha'Mufkadim Beis Hashem"?

1.

Radak: This is like b'Veis Hashem.

2.

Malbim: The Mufkadim are the ones appointed [over the workers]; they gave the money to the workers.

Why does it say here "Asher b'Veis Hashem", and in Divrei ha'Yamim II, 34:10 "Asher Osim b'Veis Hashem"?

1.

Malbim: Ezra explained there that they did not dwell in Beis Hashem. They only worked there.
