Radak: This is like ha'Nimtza'im b'Veis Hashem. There are many verses like this [in which the prefix Beis is omitted].

Who are "Bnei ha'Ta'aruvos"?

Rashi based on Targum Yonasan: They are the officers' children 1 . They were in the king's house for security, so their fathers will not rebel.

'Rashi' (Divrei ha'Yamim II, 25:24: Yisrael did not let Amatzyah be king in Yerushalayim until they took the officers' children for security, so their fathers will not rebel.

'Rashi' (Divrei ha'Yamim II, 25:24): This is difficult. We do not find that Yehudah overpowered others, that they would need to give their children for security! ('Rashi' understands this to mean Bnei Sarim of other kingdoms. Seemingly, Amatzyah took this security from his own officers! - PF)
