Where is "ha'Levanon"?

1.

Radak: It is in Eretz Yisrael. Shlomo asked only for workers to cut trees. And so Chiram sent to David professional wood cutters (Shmuel II, 5:11).

2)

Why did he mention the Tzidonim?

1.

Rashi: They dwelled near the forest, and they were under Chiram's jurisdiction. Radak - Tzidon is near Tzor; Chiram ruled over both of them. They are mentioned together - "Mah Atem Li Tzor v'Tzidon" (Yo'el 4:4), "Tzor v'Tzidon Ki Chachmah Me'od" (Zecharyah 9:2).

2.

Malbim: No one in Yisrael knows how to cut trees like Tzidonim.

3)

Here, Shlomo asked Chiram only for workers to cut trees in Eretz Yisrael. Why in Divrei ha'Yamim II, 2:7-8, did he specify also "Beroshim v'Almogim? Etzim la'Rov"?

1.

Malbim: Here, Shlomo was wise to begin with a small request, only permission for use Chiram's professionals to cut trees in Levanon in Eretz Yisrael. Before the request he suggested that Chiram choose to add more than Shlomo requested from him.
