Here, and in Divrei ha'Yamim II, 15:17 it says that the Bamos did not go away. In Divrei ha'Yamim II, 14:2 it says that he removed the Bamos!

Rashi: Here and Divrei ha'Yamim II, 15:17 discuss individuals' Bamos on which people offered to Hashem. They were used to doing so from when Shilo was destroyed until the Beis ha'Mikdash was built, for Bamos were permitted then. The Bamos did not go away, even though they were forbidden once the Beis ha'Mikdash was built, and one who offers on them is Chayav Kares! (Divrei ha'Yamim II, 14:2 discusses Bamos for idolatry.)
