What do we learn from the price of the chariots and the horses?

1.

Rashi: We learn that there were four horses to each chariot.

2.

Malbim: This shows that Shlomo's merchants were able to charge exorbitant prices, because they owned all the horses. Yisrael became rich from this!

What is the meaning of "b'Yadam"?

1.

Rashi: They took them out of Egypt via Shlomo's merchants.

2.

Radak: It is with their permission. This is like "va'Yikach Es Kol Artzo mi'Yado 1 " (Bamidbar 21:26).

I.e. Yad means Reshus. However, it says b'Yadam (with their Reshus, i.e. permission), and there it says mi'Yado (from his Reshus, i.e. jurisdiction). (PF)
