What do we learn from "Hinei Yom Bo'er ka'Tanur..."?
Nedarim 8b: In the world to come, there is no Gehinom for Resha'im 1 . Rather, Hashem will remove the sun from its case; it will punish Resha'im. Rashi - "Yom" refers to the sun.
Radak, Malbim: The day of judgment is compared to a burning fire - "k'Esh Metzaref" (2).
Ran (8b): This discusses after Techiyas ha'Mesim. There is Gehinom after death.
What is the comparison to straw?
Radak: It is dry; it is consumed quickly.
Why does it say "v'Lihat"?
Radak: This is like "va'Telahet Mosedei Harim" (Devarim 32:22).
What do we learn from "[Lo Ya'azov Lahem] Shoresh v'Anaf"?
Sanhedrin 110b #1: Resha'im will not leave a root in this world (their children will die) v'Anaf (their children will not be in the world to come).
Sanhedrin 110b #2: For Resha'im, Hashem will not leave the reward for a single Mitzvah, and not even a light Mitzvah for the world to come 1 .
Sanhedrin 110b #3: Alternatively - Shoresh refers to the Neshamah, Anaf refers to the body. (Neither will come to the world to come.)
Rashi citing Targum Yonasan: A son and grandson. Radak - the first son is like a root, and one born from him is like a branch.
Rashi (110b): They will receive all their reward in this world. Ramah (ibid.) - all their Mitzvos will not lighten their punishment.
