Why does it say "b'Arei Shomron", and not 'b'Shomron uv'Areha'? And the verse ends "va'Yirshu Es Shomron v'Yashvu b'Areha" (i.e. they did not dwell in Shomron)!

Radak, Malbim: Melech Ashur razed Shomron to its foundation, like Michah prophesized (Michah 1:6) "v'Samti Shomron l'Iy ha'Sadeh l'Mata'ei Charem." They 'inherited' it for fields and vineyards.
