What is "Gei haTzevo'im"?

1.

Targum Yonasan: It is the canyon of Af'aya. Radak - Tzevu'a is Apa (Bava Kama 16a 1 ), i.e. Af'ah. Gutteral letters (in this case, Ayin) are often omitted. It is called Tzevu'a because it has many Tzeva'im (colors).

One opinion there says that it is a snake. Rashi (Yuma 4a) says that it is a polecat. (PF)
