Rashi: R. Akiva actually saw a Nochri tie-up his father and throw him to his dog to eat. Regarding "Gam es Beneihem ve'es Benoseihem Yir'fu ba'Eish", Targum Yonasan explains that they would tie-up them up before burning them in fire.

R. Bachye: And there is nothing more abhorrent in the Eyes of Hakadosh-Baruch-Hu than taking hunan-being - let alone one's own parents - on whose behalf the world was created, and bringing himup as a sacrifice to one's gods.
