Why does the Torah mention the Arneves in the feminine form, unlike the other animals?

Ramban: Because Arneves is always referred to in the feminine ? even the males 1 - since it has no masculine equivalent.

Moshav Zekenim #1: Because the male's genitals are covered, and it resembles a female.

Moshav Zekenim #2: "Arneves" is in fact masculine. The Torah mentions the male, and the same applies to the female. 2

Moshav Zekenim #3: The Torah mentions the female, and the same applies to the male.
