(1) Chizkiyah and Rebbi Yochanan argue whether the act of "Mematchin" (which Rebbi Yosi in the Mishnah (8b) permits) means *weaving* the Shesi cords (warp) without the Erev cords (woof), or merely *tightening* cords that became loose (but weaving the Shesi alone is prohibited on Chol ha'Mo'ed like "Mesargin").
(2) "Mesargin" means interlacing both the Shesi and Erev cords, as the Gemara proves from the Mishnah in Kelim which mentions making "Batim" (i.e. Shesi and Erev) and calls it "Sirug."
(3) The Yesh Omrim maintains that "Mematchin" may not be done on Chol ha'Mo'ed. Therefore, according to the opinion (see footnote 1) that "Mematchin" means to tighten cords that became loose, the Yesh Omrim prohibits even that act. According to the opinion that "Mematchin" means weaving the Shesi cord, the Yesh Omrim maintains that merely tightening cords that became loose is permitted because it is not considered "Mematchin."
