SUMMARY

1. If a number of eggs are cooked together and a chick was found in one of them and imparts its taste to the others, the eggs are prohibited.

2. Rebbi Yochanan maintains that a partial Shi'ur of a prohibited food item is forbidden Min ha'Torah.

3. According to Bar Kapara, all prohibited food items in the Torah are nullified in sixty parts.

4. Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi maintains that all prohibited food items in the Torah are nullified in 100 parts.

5. The Zero'a Besheilah of an Ayil Nazir is kept whole and is not cut into pieces, according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Shimon maintains that it is cooked together with the Ayil.

6. According to Rebbi Yehudah, a prohibited item that is cooked with permitted items of the same taste is never nullified.

7. Rava maintains that if a piece of Kodshim imparts its taste to Chulin, the mixture is forbidden Min ha'Torah.

A BIT MORE

1. However, if an egg from a non-Kosher bird is cooked with Kosher eggs, they are permitted, because an egg itself does not impart taste.

2. Even a partial Shi'ur is nullified only in sixty parts of Kosher items.

3. However, this is true only in a case where the prohibited item does not impart taste, or where the permitted and prohibited items have the same taste. If it imparts taste, the Isur is not nullified even in a thousand parts.

4. Both Bar Kapara and Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi derive their Shi'ur from the Zero'a Besheilah of the Ayil that is cooked together with the Ayil and is permitted only to the Kohen. According to Bar Kapara, the flesh and the bones are taken into account, and the Zero'a is one sixtieth of the Ayil. According to Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi, only the flesh is taken into account, not the bones; the flesh of the Zero'a is one-hundredth of the Ayil.

5. According to the first Lashon, the Tana Kama agrees that the Zero'a Besheilah is cooked together with the Ayil. However, he maintains that it is cut off from the Ayil, first while Rebbi Shimon says that it is not cut off. According to the second Lashon, the Tana Kama rules that the Zero'a Besheilah is cooked in a separate pot from the Ayil.

6. The nullification of the Zero'a Besheilah is a Gezeiras ha'Kasuv.

7. However, if a prohibited item of Chulin imparts its taste to a permitted item, the mixture is permitted Min ha'Torah. It is forbidden mid'Rabanan if the forbidden item is less than one-sixtieth of the mixture.
