SUMMARY

1. If the Shechitah of a Korban, or the Kabalah of its blood, was done with intent to sprinkle its blood the next day on the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is Pasul but not Pigul, even if a subsequent Avodah was done with a Machshavah of Pigul.

2. If the Shechitah of a Korban, or the Kabalah of its blood, was done with intent to leave the blood for the next day, the Korban is Pasul but not Pigul, according to Rebbi Yehudah.

3. Reish Lakish says that if the blood of a Korban is sprinkled in the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach with a Machshavah of Pigul, the Korban is Pasul but not Pigul.

4. Rebbi Yochanan says that if the blood of a Korban is sprinkled in the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is Pasul.

5. If the blood of a Korban is sprinkled on the correct place on the Mizbe'ach, but was sprinkled in an improper manner, it may not be gathered up and sprinkled again.

6. Rebbi Yochanan says that there is a disagreement among Tana'im about whether the blood may be gathered up and sprinkled again in a case in which the blood was sprinkled on the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach.

7. Avimi says that if the blood of a Korban is sprinkled on the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach, everyone agrees that it may not be gathered up. If it was sprinkled on the wrong Mizbe'ach, there is a disagreement about whether it may be gathered up and sprinkled again.

8. Rebbi Yehudah says that if a Korban was slaughtered at night, or if the blood spilled, or if the blood was taken out of the Azarah, even if the Eimurim were placed on the Mizbe'ach, they must be taken down. Rebbi Shimon disagrees.

9. If a Korban became Pasul in the Azarah, if the Eimurim were placed on the Mizbe'ach they must be taken down.

10. The Mizbe'ach in the Heichal sanctifies whatever is placed on it. Even if it is something that is Pasul, it may not be taken down.

A BIT MORE

1. A Korban becomes Pigul only when all of the Avodos are done properly, or with a Machshavah of Pigul. In this case, the Korban is not Pigul because the Shechitah or Kabalah was done with an improper Machshavah to sprinkle the blood the next day on the wrong part of the Mizbe'ach, which is not a Machshavah of Pigul.

2. The Korban is not Pigul because he did not intend to sprinkle the blood the next day. However, the Korban is Pasul because he intended to leave the blood over until the next day.

3. Reish Lakish agrees with Shmuel that if the blood of a Korban was sprinkled in the wrong place of the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is valid. Nevertheless, since the Korban may not be eaten, an improper Machshavah does not cause the Korban to become Pigul.

4. Rebbi Yochanan disagrees with Reish Lakish and Shmuel. He maintains that if the blood of a Korban is sprinkled on the wrong place on the Mizbe'ach, the Korban is Pasul. Therefore, if the Kohen receives more blood of the Korban and sprinkles it on the Mizbe'ach (on the correct place), the Korban is valid.

5. For example, if the blood was sprinkled with the Kohen's left hand, or it was sprinkled with intent to eat the Korban outside the allotted place for that Korban, the blood may not be gathered up and sprinkled again.

6. Rebbi Yosi says that the blood may not be gathered up. Rebbi Shimon says that it may be gathered up and sprinkled again on the Mizbe'ach.

7. If blood which should have been sprinkled on the Mizbe'ach in the Heichal was sprinkled on the Mizbe'ach in the Azarah, or vice versa, Rebbi Yosi says that the blood may be gathered up and sprinkled again on the Mizbe'ach. Rebbi Shimon says that it may not be gathered up.

8. According to Rebbi Yehudah, when a Korban becomes Pasul in the Azarah and the Eimurim are placed on the Mizbe'ach, they may not be taken down, with the exception of these three Pesulim. Rebbi Shimon maintains that there are no exceptions, and the Eimurim are not taken off the Mizbe'ach even for these three Pesulim.

9. If the animal was Rove'a, Nirva, Muktzah, Ne'eved, Esnan, Mechir, Kil'ayim, Tereifah, or Yotzei Dofen, everyone agrees that if the Eimurim were placed on the Mizbe'ach they must be taken down, because all of these Pesulim occurred before the Korban was brought to the Mizbe'ach.

10. Even if a Kometz from a Minchah is placed on the Mizbe'ach in the Heichal, it may not be taken down, even though it is never fit to be placed on the Mizbe'ach in the Heichal.
