SUMMARY

If a person prohibits these fruit on himself with a Konam he is forbidden to benefit from the proceeds of a trade of the fruit and from anything that grows from the fruit.

If a person makes a Neder that he will not eat fruit he is permitted to benefit from anything that grows from the fruit if the seed rots but not if the seed does not rot.

Konamos are a Davar she'Yesh Lo Matirin and are not Batel because it is possible to be released from a Konam by a Chacham.

If a Se'ah of Terumah Teme'ah gets mixed in with less than 100 Se'ah of Chulin the mixture shall be left to rot. (1)

If a Se'ah of Terumah Teme'ah gets mixed in with 100 Se'ah of Terumah Tehorah it is Batel.

Once a person gives Terumah to a Kohen he no longer may be released from his Neder that made it Terumah.

If Terumah Tehorah gets mixed in with less than 100 Se'ah of Chulin it shall be sold to a Kohen minus the value of the Se'ah of Terumah.

Making a Neder is tantamount to building a Bamah and failing to get released from the Neder is tantamount to bringing a Korban on the Bamah.

Rebbi Yochanan says that when a Litra of Chulin is replanted Ma'aser must be separated from the entire crop.

Onions of the sixth year that rain fell on them on Shevi'is and they sprouted, if the leaves blackened they are forbidden.

Rebbi Shimon Ben Gamliel says that the part of the onion that grew in the sixth year is permitted and the part of the onion that grew on Shevi'is is forbidden.

If a person replants a Litra of Ma'aser Tevel he must separate Terumas Ma'aser on the original Litra from another place.

Rebbi Yanai says that if someone plants an onion of Terumah and the growth is a Rov, the growth is Mevatel the Terumah and it is permitted to non-Kohanim.

A BIT MORE

1. Terumah is only Batel in 100 parts Chulin. Since the Terumah Teme'ah is not Batel it may not be eaten and it may also not be used for fuel for a fire because of the concern that if it is kept around it may end up being eaten.

BRIEF INSIGHT

DAVAR SHE'YESH LO MATIRIN

Konamos are regarded as a Davar she'Yesh Lo Matirin because it is a Mitzvah to be released from your Neder; however it is not a Mitzvah to be released from your Neder making something into Terumah. The Ran explains that since it is a Mitzvah to be released from your Neder it is as if you have already been released. However regarding Terumah since it is not a Mitzvah to be released from your Neder and the Heter does not happen by itself it is not regarded as if your Neder has already been released.

QUICK HALACHAH

ASKING FOR RELEASE

If wine that one prohibited on himself gets mixed in with other wine, even if only one drop of the prohibited wine falls into an entire barrel of wine, the whole barrel is forbidden because a person should get released from his Neder and thus it is similar to a Davar she'Yesh Lo Matirin that is not Batel if it gets mixed in with the same Min. (Shulchan Aruch YD 216:10)
